Job Overview:

Weatherford have a great opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant to join the Team in Greenville, Texas.  The Cost Accountant has responsibility for completing accounting transactions in accordance with accounting principles, compiling financial information, and preparing accurate and timely financial reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform General Ledger reconciliation and address field questions during close.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as needed.
  • Fixed asset controls, depreciation, and analyzing variations of profit and loss income statements and prepare reports on findings.
  • Reconcile and record accrual and / or adjustments for balance sheet accounts.
  • Research reconciliation differences and multiple issues as they arise.
  • Performs other general accounting responsibilities such as management reports, auditor inquiries, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Liaises with the field operations to find proper accounting treatment for transactions.
  • Prepare AFE's and monitor routings, including updating AFE forecast quarterly.
  • Prepare Product Costing.
  • Records and reconcile intercompany transactions, as well as facilitate mismatch reports.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with Accounting and Finance related field education.
  • 5-8 years of accounting experience, cost accounting is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and follow instructions.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Strong math aptitude and ability to work accurately with numbers.
  • Excellent organizational, written and interpersonal skills, attention to detail.
  • Advanced ability to evaluate alternative means of treating transactions.
  • Experience of working closely with operational and other non-financial personnel.
  • Knowledge/experience of Sarbanes Oxley and other SEC (Stock Exchange) requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry related concepts and terminology.
  • Proven experience in adapting to change and flexibility.

Experience & Qualifications Preferred:

  • Advanced Excel user.
  • Standard costs experience preferred.
  • JD Edwards and Hyperion knowledge is preferred.
  • CPA or CMA would be preferred.
