Requirements
Interpret technical documents, adhere to quality standards, identify defective items, locate and assemble parts using various tools, apply sealant and finishes, perform electrical bonding, and check work for defects. Requires trade certification in Mechanical or a Diploma with relevant proven experience in Aerospace OEM structure assembly, with a minimum of 5 years as an Aerospace Sheet Metal Assembler for Class 1 Aerostructures.

External Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesInterpret technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions.Adhere to all quality standards and requirements for products.Identify any defective items and handle them according to established EPI procedures.Locate parts on assembly tools, mating parts and/or assemblies per drawing or instructions.Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the processAlign material and put together parts to build more complex unitsSelect drill bits, reamers and/or countersinking tools for pilot and full-size holes per drawings or instructions.Assemble parts by Drill, ream, countersink, Sealing, fastening of parts/assemblies, in proper sequence and to correct size using appropriate tools.Apply sealant, Alodine, primer, adhesives, special finishes using the appropriate personal protective equipment.Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure assembly is complete per drawing, that there are no defects (e.g., gapped heads, high rivets, tool marks, incorrect length fasteners), and that area around job is clean, prior to putting up for inspection.Install bush and bearings as per specifications and standards (Press fitting using Liquid Nitrogen/HT/Dry Ice Methods)Install fluid/hydraulic fittings and connectors.Perform Electrical bonding tasks part of assembly activities.Championing the organisation values and performance culture at all times to model behaviours to wider team staff;Ability to use hand and power tools with precision.Working knowledge of product/component acceptance testing and troubleshooting.Work well both independently and with others.Qualifications And SkillsTrade Certification Mechanical or Diploma with relevant proven experience with Aerospace OEM structure AssemblyExperienceMinimum 5years experience as an Aerospace Sheet Metal Assembler for Class 1 Aerostructures.Aerospace experience working for major OEM.Expertise in Sheet metal Assembly process, broad understanding of Assembly tooling Jigs, Usage and repair of Pneumatic Assembly tools.Understanding/ Usage of design models & ERP system, Manufacturing Planning, Assembly Process specification requirements.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and improvement concepts.Ability to train and mentor the sub-ordinates.#EPI
