Make your mark in a fast-paced operations team supporting trading expense management across products and markets. You’ll help deliver timely, controlled processing for fees, brokerage, and invoice activity while partnering closely with technology, finance, and business stakeholders. As an Operations Associate in Cost and Commission Services, you will support end-to-end invoice management and clearing-related reconciliations to help ensure accurate allocation, timely payments, and complete books-and-records integrity. You will investigate exceptions, resolve breaks to closure, and escalate issues appropriately to help maintain a strong control environment. You will partner with colleagues across operations, product control, and technology to improve processes and reporting. You will also contribute to management information routines that provide transparency into key risks, breaks, and processing performance.

Job responsibilities

  • Maintain daily books-and-records reconciliations for clearing activities, including incoming and outgoing funds balancing
  • Process payments to counterparties and broker-dealers in line with timelines and controls
  • Report abnormal trade activity to appropriate stakeholders in line with documented procedures and applicable regulatory expectations (e.g., New York Stock Exchange requirements)
  • Balance legal-entity activity within the books-and-records processing stream
  • Reconcile omnibus and suspense accounts and resolve breaks to closure
  • Perform bank reconciliations and international product reconciliations, including monitoring aged and high-risk items
  • Reconcile intercompany trading accounts and monitor allocation of data processing charges
  • Reconcile delivery-versus-payment (DVP) balances and Continuous Net Settlement (CNS) omnibus activity, investigating settlement exceptions
  • Manage invoice lifecycle activities for trading-related fees (e.g., Electronic Communication Network invoices and securities transaction fees), including analysis, accruals, allocations, and payment
  • Reconcile cash movement across omnibus accounts and suspense accounts (U.S. and foreign currencies), including journal and bank-account balancing
  • Process Clearing Member Trade Agreement (CMTA) commission receipt/payment activity and related receivable/payable reconciliations, including stock loan/borrow income and expense booking and system-to-books reconciliations

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Demonstrated experience supporting clearing-related books-and-records maintenance, including balancing incoming and outgoing funds
  • Proven ability to reconcile omnibus and suspense accounts and resolve breaks to closure
  • Working knowledge of bank reconciliations and international product reconciliations, including monitoring aged items and exceptions
  • Experience executing payments to counterparties and broker-dealers with strong attention to accuracy and deadlines
  • Ability to reconcile delivery-versus-payment (DVP) balances and investigate settlement-related exceptions
  • Experience managing fee and invoice processing from analysis through payment (including accruals and allocations)
  • Working knowledge of regulatory fee processing controls (e.g., securities transaction fees) and related documentation requirements
  • Ability to identify, document, and escalate abnormal activity in line with defined procedures and governance expectations
  • Experience preparing and posting journal entries and performing basic operational accounting tasks (income/expense booking and cash movement reconciliation)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and clear written documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and data validation) and PowerPoint for management reporting

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience with Continuous Net Settlement (CNS) omnibus reconciliations and clearing exception management
  • Experience processing Electronic Communication Network (ECN) invoices and other market/brokerage fee structures
  • Experience supporting stock loan/borrow income and expense booking and related receivable/payable reconciliations
  • Experience with Clearing Member Trade Agreement (CMTA) commission receipt/payment processing and reconciliation
  • Familiarity investigating Nostro account and securities position breaks in prime brokerage or clearing environments
  • Experience reconciling data across portfolio management systems or vendor platforms (e.g., Geneva) against internal books and records
  • Experience driving process improvements, control enhancements, or automation/reporting initiatives within operations
