The role As a primary teacher, you will plan and deliver exceptional lessons that meet the needs of all learners. Key responsibilities Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum. Assess, record, and report on student progress to ensure every child achieves their potential. Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports effective learning. Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum, subject matter, and effective pedagogy. Collaborate with colleagues to plan units of work, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development. Communicate effectively with parents to provide regular updates on student progress and well-being. Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes, school events, and committees. Uphold the GEMS Education core values and school policies at all times. Promote cultural awareness, resilience, and a genuine love of learning in all students. Skills Qualifications & knowledge Bachelor’s degree in education (or equivalent teaching qualification). Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree and recognised teaching certification/licence. Strong understanding of the use of ICT in education to enhance learning and engagement. Skills & attributes A committed and skilled classroom practitioner with high expectations for student learning and behaviour. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. A reflective practitioner who embraces continuous professional development. Flexible, positive, and able to thrive in a collaborative team environment. Experience Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a relevant subject area and age group. Previous experience teaching the National Curriculum for England is highly desirable.
