Overview of the role
The Visual Merchandising Assistant is tasked with implementing and maintaining the M&S brand image in-store, ensuring visual consistency to provide customers with an inspirational shopping experience. Reporting to the Store Manager and working closely with the Senior Visual Merchandiser and Commercial Department Managers, the role involves designing, developing, and managing the visual aesthetics of the store and its merchandise. The assistant contributes to the store's advertising, marketing, and sales strategies by executing merchandising strategies, creating visual displays, and managing merchandise handling, replenishment, and inventory control, thus contributing to the store's profitability.
What you will do
Follow the visual merchandising guidelines and ensure these are rolled out across the store.
Implement well-styled mannequins in line with the styling policy.
Use appropriate styling techniques and the correct visual elements to aid customer segmentation.
Ensure excellent visual standards across all business units and windows of the store.
Help the Senior Visual Merchandiser and store teams implement seasonal launches and events promptly and on brand.
Be aware of store and company best sellers.
Maintain awareness of competitor activities and trends within visual merchandising.
Educate and train sales staff to ensure VM is in line with standards.
Maintain and adhere to the VM checklist.
Liaise daily with the Visual Merchandiser for updates on VM processes and requirements.
Deliver design primarily for POS, windows, and VM as required by the business.

What qualifies you for the role
