Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Labor & Delivery Nurse to join a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. The Labor & Delivery Nurse will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to women throughout labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in obstetric nursing, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced maternity environment while supporting both mothers and newborns.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to women throughout the stages of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery.Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, uterine activity, and overall maternal-fetal wellbeing, promptly identifying and escalating any abnormalities.Assist obstetricians and the multidisciplinary team during normal and high-risk deliveries, including emergency obstetric procedures.Prepare patients, equipment, and delivery rooms for labor, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures.Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed, while monitoring patients for therapeutic response and potential complications.Assist with fetal monitoring, labor assessment, and management of patients experiencing obstetric complications.Support emergency interventions, including maternal and neonatal resuscitation, in accordance with established clinical protocols.Provide immediate postpartum care, including monitoring maternal recovery, bleeding, pain, vital signs, and other potential complications.Support the initial care and assessment of newborns following delivery and coordinate with neonatal or pediatric teams when required.Provide education, emotional support, and guidance to mothers and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, delivery details, and patient progress.RequirementsRequirementsBachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification.Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery / Obstetric nursing experience in a hospital setting.Valid nursing license from the home country.Eligibility for nursing license in Dubai (DHA eligibility, license, or willingness to obtain).Strong knowledge of labor management, fetal monitoring, obstetric procedures, and maternal-newborn care.Experience in managing both normal and high-risk pregnancies and deliveries.Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency and high-pressure situations.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is an advantage.Experience in a tertiary care or internationally accredited hospital is an advantage.Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.Willing to work in Dubai, UAE.
