Our supervision teams work closely with clients, contractors, authorities and project stakeholders to monitor construction quality, coordinate technical matters, verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications, and support testing, commissioning and handover. With a strong focus on technical excellence, accountability and coordination, BEC is committed to delivering safe, compliant and high-quality projects.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Civil Inspector (Buildings) role based in Abu Dhabi. The Civil Inspector will perform daily site inspections of building projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes and standards. The role includes monitoring construction activities, checking materials and workmanship, and supporting quality control processes. The inspector will prepare inspection reports, document non-conformities, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and site supervisors to resolve issues and maintain safe working practices. The Civil Inspector will also assist in verifying progress for approvals, support construction management teams with technical input, and contribute to timely project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out regular civil and structural inspections in coordination with the Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer.Inspect works against approved drawings, specifications, method statements and Inspection & Test Plans.Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concrete works, waterproofing, masonry and other assigned civil activities before approval and continuation of subsequent works.Verify materials delivered to site against approved material submittals and suppliers and support sampling/testing where required.Witness concrete pouring and required tests and record relevant inspection and test information.Monitor work in progress to identify defects, poor workmanship, unauthorized work or deviations from approved requirements.Maintain accurate inspection records, executed-item records, photographs and daily observations.Report non-conformities and site issues to the Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer and support follow-up until closure.Monitor compliance with site safety requirements during assigned inspections and report unsafe conditions.Support snagging, de-snagging and completion inspections and provide field verification for handover records.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent technical qualification.Previous experience as a civil or building inspector on construction projects, preferably within consultancy or supervision roles.Ability to identify non-compliant work, maintain inspection records and communicate site observations clearly.Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.Minimum of 2 years of relevant GCC experience.
