About the role
This position focuses on developing and applying advanced statistical and machine learning methods to analyze digital health data collected over time. The work involves creating new models and algorithms that can handle complex data challenges, such as missing information and personalized predictions. The researcher will work both independently and collaboratively to design and test innovative data analysis methods. These methods will be applied to real-world problems in personalized nutrition and diabetes to improve health insights and outcomes.
Key responsibilities
The work focuses on developing statistical and machine learning methods for longitudinal digital health data, including new random-effects regression models in functional data, uncertainty quantification via conformal prediction, methods for missing data, and transfer learning algorithms.
The candidate must be research independent and in collaboration with the team, propose novel data analysis methods in the area of digital health and validate in relevant applications in the field of personalized nutrition and diabetes.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Statistical Science, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
Minimum:
Seeking candidates with experience in statistical and machine-learning theory and methods development.
Biomedical research experience and participation in clinical publications are a plus.
Preferred:
First-author publications in leading biostatistics, statistics, and machine-learning journals, plus experience at top-tier conferences (e.g., ICML, NeurIPS).
