Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Typically 3–7 years of relevant civil construction experience, preferably in power, substations, EPC, infrastructure, or industrial projects.

  • Good experience in civil site execution and construction supervision.

  • Knowledge of excavation, earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural works, masonry, waterproofing, roads, drainage, and cable trenches.

  • Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and multidisciplinary engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, inspection procedures, and quality requirements.

  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors, consultants, clients, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, and testing requirements.

  • Good understanding of construction planning, scheduling, resource management, quantity measurement, and site coordination.

Description
Assist in planning and executing civil construction activities for power projects, substations, control buildings, and associated infrastructure.Review approved civil and structural drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, and construction documents.Supervise civil works including excavation, earthworks, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concreting, masonry, waterproofing, roads, drainage, cable trenches, and external works.Ensure civil activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project schedules.Coordinate with Project Managers, Senior Engineers, Electrical, MEP, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, and Procurement teams.Coordinate with subcontractors and monitor manpower, materials, equipment, productivity, and work quality.Assist in setting out, surveying, excavation, leveling, alignment, reinforcement, formwork, concrete placement, and finishing activities.Coordinate with surveyors to verify levels, coordinates, dimensions, and alignment of civil works.Review subcontractor work plans, method statements, inspection requests, and construction procedures.Monitor daily progress and report actual progress, delays, constraints, and site requirements to senior management.Ensure timely availability of approved construction materials in coordination with Procurement and Store teams.Inspect materials and ensure compliance with approved specifications and material submittals.Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and testing of civil works and ensure closure of quality observations and NCRs.Monitor concrete works including reinforcement inspection, formwork, embedded items, pouring, slump testing, cube sampling, curing, and related activities.Ensure proper execution of equipment foundations, transformer foundations, control buildings, cable trenches, roads, drainage systems, and other substation civil works.Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions and raise RFIs/technical queries for timely resolution.Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, mechanical, MEP, structural, and other project disciplines.Assist in preparation of work plans, look-ahead schedules, manpower requirements, and resource plans.Monitor quantities, material consumption, wastage, and productivity and provide relevant information for project cost control.Assist in reviewing BOQs, quantities, variations, additional works, and site measurements.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and construction requirements.Ensure compliance with project HSE procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and safe working practices.Participate in site meetings, coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and progress reviews.Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve site issues.Maintain daily reports, inspection records, material records, test reports, drawings, and other project documentation.Assist in monitoring snagging and rectification works and ensure timely closure of outstanding items.Support preparation of as-built drawings and final project documentation.Assist in project completion, testing, commissioning interfaces, and final handover activities.Provide technical guidance to supervisors, foremen, and site personnel as required.Support continuous improvement in construction quality, productivity, safety, and resource utilization.
