Job description
Synopsis
The Production Planning Engineer reports to the Lead Production Planning Engineer and ensures that Etihad Airways’ safety, airworthiness and economic objectives are met in an efficient manner using capacity planning tools. The Production Planning Engineer ensures that a proactive and integrated approach is adopted towards the capacity planning for the Line, Light Maintenance departments. The role is responsible for monitoring resource and facility requirements to cater to maintenance tasks in accordance with the approved AMP and Etihad Maintenance Policy.
Accountabilities
Develops project plans to deliver the business requirements as requested by Lead Production Planning Engineer.
Monitors the processes within Technical Operations to provide a seamless and efficient workflow, managing the program to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved.
Manages the capacity planning tools to ensure a consistent approach is adopted to maintain the serviceability of aircraft and the best Technical Dispatch Reliability.
Establishes efficient and effective internal procedures including interfaces to support the department objectives as well as provide assistance to other departments for capacity planning in addition to forecasting of requirements.
Reviews the capacity trend for Line and Light maintenance on a monthly basis to evaluate the resource requirements and draft budget plans for additional resources as and when required.
Monitors and reviews the 14-day WLC to ensure all proposed plans are within capacity. Participates in event meetings, production meetings and is involved in the decision-making process to cater to AOG or planned casualty input requirements over and above the 14-day WLC plan.
Coordinates with stakeholders to arrange additional infrastructure and facilities like hangar, cranes, dockings, special tools, parking bays etc. in a timely manner to meet all maintenance demands from CAMO.
Performs other duties that may be assigned by Lead Production Planning Engineer.
Ensures that all work performed at Etihad is completed in accordance with the processes and procedures recorded in the approved manuals and is done in a safe manner.
Is familiar with, enforces and follows the procedures stipulated in the Safety and Quality Management Manual (SQMM) and becomes an active participant in the workplace safety program.
Encourages colleagues and is actively involved in the promotion of a positive reporting culture by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or safety risks.
Qualifications
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related field) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma/Aircraft License with 3-5 years of experience in aviation maintenance planning.
Familiarity with maintenance forecasting tools and software; experience with AMOS is a plus.
Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, particularly in maintenance planning.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
